Overview
We are seeking two experienced Project Managers to lead the delivery of planned highways works for a UK Local Authority. The successful candidates will manage the end-to-end delivery of schemes valued at £250k and above, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned highways projects in accordance with client and local authority requirements.
- Oversee all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, cost control, and reporting.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to agents and supervisors within the project team.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all project phases.
- Monitor and manage risk, programme, and quality performance.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience delivering highways or civil engineering projects within a UK Local Authority environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing schemes of £250k+ value.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor and support junior team members effectively.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Qualifications
- CSCS Manager Card – Essential
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – Essential
- Health & Safety qualification – Preferable (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely)
